A dedicated educator and researcher with over 22 years in civil engineering and urban management — passionate about launching new disciplines and cultivating high-quality human resources for the urbanizing South of Vietnam.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Truong was born in 1978 in Thanh Hoa province, Vietnam. He earned his engineering degree in Civil and Industrial Construction from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (VNU-HCM) in 2003 and was selected as one of the outstanding graduates to remain at the university as a faculty member.
In 2007, he received his Master's degree in Construction Mechanics from the University of Liège, Belgium. He successfully defended his PhD dissertation in Geotechnical Engineering at HCMC University of Technology in 2019. In 2025, the State Council of Professors of Vietnam officially recognized him as Associate Professor in Transportation Engineering.
He currently serves as Head of the Urban Infrastructure Management Division and Program Chair of the Urban Management & Construction major at Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment — where he has helped build one of Southern Vietnam's flagship programs in urban infrastructure.
